Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia Nervosa: Anorexia Nervosa commonly occurs in teenage girls, but it may also affect adult women, young boys and men. A patient with anorexia nervosa has low body weight. People with anorexia nervosa usually avoid more exercise and foods contain high-calorie. Patients have low body weight, but they think that they are fat. Girl patients having no menstrual periods.

Causes:

Girls patient stop having regular menstrual periods. Patient has thin hair on the scalp, bad mood and dry skin. They get high fever and experience cold or sometimes hunger.

Severe anorexia is a serious health problem. There is no only one cause of anorexia. Anger, stress and anxiety also causes of anorexia.

Other causes of anorexia nervosa include-

  • Culture
  • Change in lifestyles and stressful events
  • Personal feelings
  • History of family

Signs and symptoms of anorexia nervosa:

  • Patients look like a thinner
  • Have a bowel movement and diet pills
  • Excessive exercise
  • Avoid foods and counts calories
  • Wear heavy clothes to hide their diseases.
  • Always conversion on the food and weight
  • Depressed or moody

Treatment for anorexia nervosa:

Care is necessary for patient with anorexia. Change in lifestyles, eating disorders will be suggested by doctor. Counseling is also necessary after every six months or a year for patients.

Medicines with counseling are also recommended by health care providers. Patients experience secure, safe and comfortable with their health problems by taking love from family members and friends. Individual counseling may helpful to treat anorexia.

You should do the following steps in case of you know a person who has anorexia nervosa:-

  • You should tell your friend about signs and symptoms that you noticed in his or her. If you think these signs and symptoms of any disease, suggest your friend- go to a good health care provider.
  • You should avoid conflicts with your friend and again and again repeat your reasons and feelings until he admit his problem.
  • You should express your support and show that you want her to be happy and healthy.
  • Don’t place blame, shame and guilt on patient who has anorexia. You should be honest and open to talk about this disease.
